Monday Morning Magic | Weekend Get-Away

Allison and I went up to Sonoma County this weekend. Guerneville. And stayed just one night at the Applewood Inn. We had side-by-side massages and drank champagne by a wood-burning fireplace as the rain fell outside. The next day, on the drive back, we did some shopping and took a little walk at Armstrong Woods State Park to get our fix of the blessed redwoods.
When I got home and went back to work yesterday, I realized two things:
1) There was not a single child in the Inn. Not one. And that was nice.
2) I have to take that trip more often.
So, my Monday Morning Inspiration to all of you hard-working people who are doing the world’s most important work of caring for, teaching, and raising our children…get away from them sometimes.
It really helps.
